MOLALLA BUCKEROO RODEO EXCHANGES RED, WHITE AND BLUE FOR PINK!
June 2nd, 2009
The opening night of the 86th Annual Molalla Buckeroo will be dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. Through the Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign, the Molalla Buckeroo Association has committed to donating $1 of every ticket sold on Pink night, Thursday July 2nd, to the Oregon & SW Washington affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The goal is to raise BIG dollars for breast cancer research with rodeo contestant and spectator participation.
Patrons and contestants can show their support by wearing pink during the rodeo. Prizes will be awarded randomly to those in attendance that are Tough Enough to Wear Pink and to those with the best pink outfit! Contestants wearing pink and winning the go-round will receive $100 bonus with a matching $100 going to Oregon & SW Washington affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Informational brochures from Susan G. Komen will be on hand to pass out at the evening performance and those wishing to make personal donations may do so at any one of the Pink drop sites at the event. In addition, Tough Enough to Wear Pink merchandise will be available for purchase to help boost the fundraising campaign.
This will be the third year the Molalla Buckeroo has organized a Tough Enough to Wear Pink night. Organizers are striving to have a sell-out start to the weekend, and rally around a cause that has touched so many friends, families, and competitors’ lives.
